openDeleting excess character pages Web Original
How do you deal with character pages that are bare bones apart from an image or Zero-Context Examples? Is it okay to get rid of them if they aren't fleshed out, or do you have to get approval?
I’ve brought the page I want to deal with (the overloaded Planet Dolan page) to the Character Page Cleanup thread, but I don’t know where else to go from there.
openChikn Nuggit and Weblinks in Examples Web Original
The Funny and Heartwarming Moments subpages for Chikn Nuggit feature examples that implement weblinks. Sadly, in numerous cases, this is at the expense of context. Each example should stand on its own; the reader shouldn't be expected to view every relevant short just so they can understand why something is silly or sweet. Such examples, as far as I know, are in violation of Weblinks Are Not Examples. Also, examples that do provide proper context make the weblinks redundant.
I've already commented out two examples on the Heartwarming subpage for blatantly lacking sufficient context, but I feel more in-depth cleanup may be in order and would appreciate any assistance. For instance, would a Short-Term Project thread help?
openSML ideas Web Original
If I want to make recap pages for SuperMarioLogan I have some ideas and questions. Most videos end with a question, can the SML question be put on the bottom or in the image which is the thumbnail?
A few videos changed the title from Mario to Jeffy's dad and Bowser to Junior’s dad. The reason is that the SML cast got a cease and desist letter from Nintendo where they can’t use those names. Should I use the original title or the current title? Examples are in these links: https://sml.fandom.com/wiki/Mario_Sells_Jeffy! https://sml.fandom.com/wiki/Bowser%27s_Change!
openCaseoh page Web Original
I'm wondering if since he's starting to become popular, Caseoh can get a page. I mentioned him on Gentle Giants and so far that's the only Trope I have for him (I couldn't find a waifu trope for the Dolores bit, maybe Celeb Crush?), but it might become an edit war. I would like help creating a page.

How do I upload images from fandom? When I try to do that, TV Tropes says it can't upload files of this type.
openWMG on a real life person Web Original
I noticed that there's a WMG page for I'm Autistic, Now What? that's mainly speculating on Megan's personal life.
Anyone else find this uncomfortable?
openTroper with an Agenda Web Original
About a year and a half ago, I noticed that II Test Tube Fan had been editing the various subpages on Battle for Dream Island attempting to paint Two as if they were an irredeemable monster, despite the show not presenting them as such. This included adding a nondescript Complete Monster entry without going through the suggestion thread and editing out factual tropes on their character folder and replacing them with negative bias tropes. This had slowed down as of recent, but then I noticed them on the Image Suggestion Thread trying to suggest an image for the Nightmare Fuel page that's very nondescript and reliant on context, and with the context of the episode, it's still pushing an agenda against Two. Can they be reached out to about this repeated pattern?

If one were to add a quote or example from a fanfiction without a page on this site, is it ok to link the title to the fanfiction itself? Additionally, should the page of the original work be linked somewhere in the quote?

Today I learned that Platform.Vimeo has 164 wicks, even though it doesn't look like the page ever existed. Should someone make one, or should we just remove these wicks?
openUnexplained Deletions going on in the Inanimate Insanity character page Web Original
clonniecloo has been deleting a multitude of entries in the character page for Inanimate Insanity and no reasons have been given. I've also noticed that these all revolve around the character Cabby. Should this be a concern to acknowledge?
Edited by RedBerryBlueCherryopenWork page that misrepresents/sanitizes creator Web Original
WebVideo.Overlord DVD is... weird.
From the page's description and tropes, it sounds like a campy, skit-based review show. It is instead, by and large, someone spouting up complaints, made up rumors, and outright lies about properties he doesn't like with the framing device of being a supervillain.
I do think it's tropeable to some extent in that the lore and theatricality is there, but completely glossing over the fact that the videos are just straight "news" and primarily exist to promote a culture war is weird.
I brought it up in the Works that Promote Bigotry Thread but I thought I'd post it here since A: That thread is very slow and B: the issue of a work being misrepresented may be a broader discussion.
Edited by LarkmarnopenNorms around article subject changing medium Web Original
A few years ago, I made a page for my work RealmMeshReality. I then proceeded to fall off of TV Tropes, during which time I converted RMR into a book. I now have a few questions. The ones I can think of now (which may be all of them) are:
- Does it belong at Literature/RealmMeshReality now, and if so, how do I move it there?
- What's the usual protocol on mentioning this in the lede (e.g. "In 2022, he converted this into a book like so")?
- The move from a wiki into a book also involved an adjustment of the canon. Consequently, an estimated ~20 of the tropes now pertain at least partially to now non-canonical content. Is there a general protocol on how that affects the article's content (no mention of the Retcon, brief mention in the lede, splitting into canon/non-canon sub-folders, etc.)?
openPage for multiple blogs by the same creator Web Original
I'm considering making pages for the blogs The Archdruid Report (currently defunct) and Ecosophia (still active), but I have a question first. Both of these blogs are by John Michael Greer, and while they have different names and are hosted on different websites, they cover very similar content and are effectively the same work in two parts. What would be best to do here? The options I'm considering:
- List the tropes for the blogs on Greer's own (not-yet-created) creator page.
- Make one page for both blogs.
- Make one page for each blog.
openDeleted Trope Examples Web Original
Content Warning for abuse, in case anyone needs that.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Bearded Expense, a regular guest in Ethan's videos, has gained quite a small following outside of Sound's videos thanks to his very specific on-screen personality.
- BeardedExpense can be a terrifying Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant when he wants to be. "the overmind", anyone?
The edit reason is "Due to controversy mentioned in Harsher in Hindsight, I do not think it is appropriate to paint Bearded Expense in a positive light on Sound Smith's (a victim of his) page." While I don't like the guy either, I think it's a bit much to remove the trope entries entirely due to out-of-universe drama.
I'm considering restoring the second example and re-writing the first to remove the chained potholes and adding an acknowledgement that he's not this trope anymore:
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Bearded Expense, a guest in older videos, has gained quite a following thanks to his recognizable and hilarious personality (involving lots of No Indoor Voice and Refuge in Audacity). This viewpoint, however, has since dropped off following real-life controversy from Bearded.
Is this OK to do?
open"That one popular tumblr prompt about shapeshifting cat" web original or webcomic? Web Original
I'm planning to make a page for a rather popular tumblr story who based on this specific prompt: https://64.media.tumblr.com/7628f052b2dbb72da37d1c9502f047a6/4a227267a67aab65-d5/s1280x1920/e6dc0900f497dc84d11daba02383b0134ce420d9.pnj
There is two oneshot webcomic version of the story one by lullychi and one by foldingfittedsheet, but since both comics following the same idea of the prompt so it would be unwise to turn them into separate pages for each comics. Like there is page for God of Arepo and it both covers two versions of the comics since they follow the story similar enough. However, I'm confused on which media I should tag this as. It first come from a short prompt idea, making it technically web original but the webcomic version is the most popular one.
Also the title. The prompt just suggesting the story idea without possible title, however the story often referred as The Witch's Cat or The Most Beautiful Woman in the Town.
Which one should i use as the title?
openIs Our Drawings movie bad enough for us to make an example for So Bad, It's Horrible page? Web Original
Exactly What It Says on the Tin. So I heard that Our Drawings movie is bad because of the animation quality, bad and nonsensical writing, and how the creator (who is a Youtuber) couldn't handle any criticism. And it sounds bad enough to me that I kinda want to make an example for it on So Bad, It's Horrible. Agree or not? If not, let me know the reason why.
Edited by BubblepigopenThe Sunshine Crew Web Original
Can someone please fix the Sunshine Crew page? I’m upset now.
opennew here and a little nervous about editing... Web Original
Hi! Long time lurker but I just got an account, and honestly a large part of the reason I did was because I was really bothered by some aspects of the Inanimate Insanity page and wanted to fix them—namely, a lot of the ways Cabby is described. If you're familiar with the show, you're probably aware that toward the beginning of the season she's introduced many fans saw her in a manipulative light, but as her story progressed things have come to light about her that make her more sympathetic. Problem is, it seems much of her character page, as well as other places she's mentioned, haven't been updated since, and while it would have been understandable back then, now it just seems in poor taste to call her manipulative. However, there would have to be some pretty drastic upheaval (just look at her character page! it's so negative!) and I'm worried my own biases in the other direction would show through.
(Also, I know it's silly since the point is for these pages to be accurate and up to date, but I feel a little bad tearing someone's hard work making that page to shreds.)
Would any more experienced tropers be willing to help me out in updating it?

The Freeman's Mind is in the WebVideo/ namespace, but is described as a Machinima.
When the Machinima/ namespace was discontinued, I thought all these works were moved to WebAnimation/. Should Freeman's Mind be moved?
Same question as for the Leeroy Jenkins Video, in fact.
